Before Miami, Baku was the newest street circuit on the Formula 1 calendar, joining the ranks of Monaco, Melbourne and Singapore.
The first Grand Prix in Baku was held six years ago, as the European Grand Prix. The event was then followed by the inaugural Azerbaijan Grand Prix one year later, a race that witnessed one of the biggest upsets of the season, with Daniel Ricciardo winning out from Valtteri Bottas and the Williams of Lance Stroll, while Lewis Hamilton and Scuderia Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel involved in some argy-bargy behind the Safety Car.
Join ScuderiaFans later in the afternoon to keep up to date with the latest results, timings, news and updates from the Baku City Circuit, as the second practice session for the 2022 Azerbaijan Grand Prix is about to get underway in Baku. Scuderia Ferrari drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will hit the track behind the wheel of the F1-75 car, ready to continue testing to find the best car settings and set-up ahead of the qualifying session on Saturday and the race on Sunday.
