The Red Bull Ring track has been the home of the Austrian Grand Prix since 1970, but it has been held under a different name, originally known as the Österreichring, the A1-Ring and now the Red Bull Ring.
Racing was held between 1970 and 1987, but there was then an eight-year absence. Thankfully when the circuit was updated racing returned here in 1997. The race was absent from the Formula 1 calendar again between 2004 and 2013 but returned in 2014 with the circuit now names the Red Bull Ring.
Each lap is a distance of 4.3 km (2.6 miles) with the total race distance being 306 km (190 miles). It is a circuit of two halves, the first half of the lap is all about speed with three long straights. The second half is a real test of driver ability filled with fast corners.
