The traditional Formula 1 drivers’ parade at Silverstone is set to become a spectacular show in its own right. Before the British Grand Prix gets underway, all 22 drivers will take to the circuit in individual LEGO-built go-karts, each constructed from around 28,000 LEGO bricks and capable of reaching speeds of up to 25 km/h. The ambitious project follows the huge success of the LEGO-themed driver parade held in Miami in 2025.
At Silverstone, the parade lap will no longer serve only as the prelude to the race, but as an entertaining event for fans in its own right. Last year, the British Grand Prix trophy was built entirely from LEGO bricks, adding an unexpected twist to one of the sport’s most iconic weekends. This year, however, the collaboration between Formula 1 and LEGO takes things to an entirely new level.
All 22 Formula 1 drivers will climb aboard specially built LEGO go-karts designed to resemble miniature racing prototypes. The idea stems from the overwhelming success of the 2025 Miami Grand Prix driver parade, when large LEGO cars—each capable of carrying both drivers from the same team—turned the normally relaxed parade lap into an impromptu race, with LEGO bricks flying across the circuit as the drivers battled one another for fun.
This time, Formula 1 and the LEGO Group have decided to make the concept even more ambitious. Every driver will have their own individual LEGO go-kart for Sunday’s traditional parade lap at Silverstone. Each kart has been built using approximately 28,000 LEGO bricks by a team of 20 designers and engineers, who spent more than 6,400 hours developing and assembling the vehicles at LEGO’s factory in the Czech Republic. Despite their playful appearance, the karts are capable of reaching top speeds of 25 km/h.
Each vehicle weighs around 280 kg, including approximately 65 kg of LEGO bricks, and is fitted with standard go-kart wheels. Instead of riding around the circuit on the traditional parade truck, the drivers will complete the pre-race lap behind the wheel of these unique machines, adding another memorable attraction to the British Grand Prix weekend.

“Last year’s Formula 1 driver parade in Miami featuring the large LEGO cars was one of the most memorable and talked-about moments of the season. It captured the imagination of fans around the world and showcased a different side of our sport,” said Emily Prazer, Formula 1’s Chief Commercial Officer.
“This year, we’re building on that moment to create another incredible spectacle for the fans attending the British Grand Prix, as well as those watching around the world. There’s something truly special about bringing together the worlds of Formula 1 and LEGO, combining innovation, creativity and entertainment in a way that can inspire and excite fans of all ages.”
Julia Goldin, Chief Product & Marketing Officer of the LEGO Group, added: “The excitement from both the drivers and the fans during last year’s Miami parade was impossible to ignore. The fans and the drivers asked us to do it again, and we’ve delivered. We wanted to go even bigger than last year while continuing to surprise and entertain our community. We can’t wait to see what the drivers get up to once they head out onto the track in these go-karts.”
