Formula 1 will not modify its regulations but will continue with the current ones in place. This was reported by Stefano Domenicali, with the chief executive officer of Formula 1 admitting that the top motorsport class will not change its ongoing rules but will proceed with what was introduced in last championship.
This is to avoid conveying the notion of a motorsport series manipulating the rules to its own liking. Former Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali himself highlighted how Formula 1 has always experienced cycles, although the aim of the top motorsport class should be to reduce the span of dominance which is now clearly seen on the track.
Red Bull has had an incredible start to the 2023 campaign, achieving victories in all the races that have taken place so far ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, which will be held this weekend at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit.
In seven F1 events, the Milton Keynes-based team has secured five one-two finishes, clearly dominating the scene in both championship standings.
“We shouldn’t stop Red Bull, they shouldn’t think of it as a category that manipulates things,” stated Stefano Domenicali, interviewed on the Beyond The Grid podcast.

“I am not inclined to such ideas. They have done an excellent job, and this is called meritocracy; we must acknowledge it. We should maintain the regulations as they are and allow others to go after Red Bull. Formula 1 has always been a sport that goes through cycles, and the goal is to make the cycles shorter. The difference in 2023 lies between one team and the others. The others are very close to each other.” – the former Ferrari team principal pointed out.
