All the rumors that emerged during the winter regarding the possibility of Flavio Briatore returning to Formula 1 with Alpine have been confirmed: the former Renault team principal returns to the sport, but not with the Alpine F1 Team. He will do it as an Ambassador of the series.
The Italian entrepreneur announced this through a post published on his Instagram profile. Flavio Briatore returns to the world of sport after the FIA sanctioned him in September 2009 when he was banned from motor sport. Flavio Briatore was accused of ordering driver Nelson Piquet Jr. to deliberately crash in the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix.
