Home » Flavio Briatore reflects on Ferrari’s current form and Lewis Hamilton’s arrival in 2025

Flavio Briatore reflects on Ferrari’s current form and Lewis Hamilton’s arrival in 2025. Flavio Briatore expressed his opinion on Ferrari's current condition.

Flavio Briatore has recently returned to the F1 paddock in an official capacity and immediately took the opportunity to talk about Ferrari. Speaking to ‘La Politica nel Pallone’ by Emilio Mancuso on GR Parlamento, he touched on some key and current points in the world of Formula 1.

Ferrari struggled again in Austria, and it seems that Maranello’s mediocre period is now evident to everyone. Fred Vasseur tries to keep optimism high, but after the victory in Monaco, the team has shown quite a few problems.

The only positive note from the last three races is Carlos Sainz’s podium in Austria, after two DNFs in Canada and mediocre performances by both the Spaniard and Charles Leclerc in Spain. Silverstone will be the new test to evaluate just how much Ferrari is really in crisis.

Flavio Briatore’s comments on Lewis Hamilton’s arrival

In this regard, Flavio Briatore expressed a rather emblematic opinion. “This year, they had a good championship, they are among the protagonists, but they are not the absolute protagonist. Then, in the last few races, they lost a bit: now they are absolutely the fourth force. The other teams have developed more decisively compared to them.”

He then added, “They can still try to recover, and this would be good for everyone. Let’s not forget that a winning Ferrari is good for the entire world of F1, for its history and its following. It would also be an advantage for all the other teams.” – he pointed out.

Lewis Hamilton’s arrival could resolve this situation. “Yes, for me, drivers have great value, and someone like Hamilton is a great asset. However, for a driver to be strong, the presence of a good car is essential. Ferrari definitely needs this,” concluded the Italian entrepreneur.

Should they leave the car alone for some time to see if the drivers mental approach is right for each race it must be hard to correctly evaluate all the information when changing things all the time upgrades could be counter intuitive if drivers come back reporting new problems or excuses which ever is easiest to explain away that is not working properly. It seems to me Max has the ability to fine tune his car with the existing equipment and that is what makes him a great champion he simply knows how to get his car running as he wants it in conjunction with his team.Everybody else thinks they can get their team to make the car go faster therefore running around in circles. Norris threw away any chance of beating him by running into the back of Max anywhere in the world of driving a motor vehicle if you run into the back of someone you are in the wrong but in F1 we get a lot of opinions about what the other vehicle was doing usually with reporters bias. I am a Ferrari Fan have been for a long time but I believe when it all boils down the difference is the human factor that makes the champion. How many times do you see Max lose the lead but in no time at all he comes back at the overtaker passes him and tears away into the lead to win. He is a very skilled Mad Max.
