Carlos Sainz has given his first interview since Ferrari announced that they will part ways with the Spanish driver from 2025. Speaking to the microphones of Sky Sport 24, chatting with Mara Sangiorgio, he talked about his feelings and how he is preparing for the upcoming season starting in two weeks. Here are his comments.

Carlos Sainz is ready for 2024
Carlos Sainz, talking to Mara Sangiorgio, stated: “I’m good, don’t worry about me. I am calm, and we are already working on the future, but above all, on what lies ahead of us, which is a very important year. It will be my last season with the team, and I want to do it in the best possible way. That’s why I’m here today on a go-kart track to train to the maximum and give everything this year.”

The Spaniard continued, saying: “Obviously, these things, perhaps from the outside, you don’t notice, but from the inside, I see and know things much earlier than you do, and I have prepared with my team for all the changes that will come. As mentioned, though, I don’t want to think about anything other than this season, and I want to give my best for Ferrari.”

“This winter has been different. It’s true that I changed all my trainers and also the way I prepare for races. I’m doing much more cardiovascular work with the bike, and of course, the more I can ride go-karts or the Formula 1 car, the better. We did some test days in Barcelona last week, and tomorrow I will be at Fiorano with the 2022 car for a couple of runs.”

The Ferrari driver then said: “I think I am a driver who improves as the seasons go by. It doesn’t seem to me that there has ever been a year when I took a step back in my career. I keep growing; this year, I’ll turn thirty, but I feel younger and more motivated than ever. I always try to find that extra something I can have on the go-kart, on the bike, or in Formula 1. That’s my philosophy, and it will always be.” – he added.

“For this reason, I can tell you that I am very calm. I know my level and my worth. I know there will be beautiful things in the future, but for now, the most beautiful adjective I have in mind this year with Ferrari is to do my best.” – the Spaniard pointed out.

Carlos Sainz concluded his statement by saying, “This last week is not the best to start a year, but from the moment I put on my helmet in Bahrain, hit the track, and start working with my engineers, I can assure you that I won’t feel anything. I will feel that I want to go as fast as possible, and if there is an opportunity to become a world champion, I will be there to seize it.”
