Red Bull’s Sergio Perez claimed pole position for the 2023 Formula One Miami Grand Prix after setting the quickest lap time in a qualifying session that was ended early due to a crash suffered by the SF-23 challenger of Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc.
The Mexican driver secured P1 after the initial runs of Q3, and with Charles Leclerc’s incident leading to a red flag in the final minutes, nobody was able to surpass Sergio Perez’s lap of 1:26.841 at the Miami International Autodrome in Florida, USA.
Starting from P2 will be Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso, while Carlos Sainz and Kevin Magnussen will start on the second row, with Pierre Gasly taking P5. Max Verstappen, meanwhile, will begin the race in ninth place at the Miami International Autodrome.
