Charles Leclerc heads into the Sprint from the second row after coming within just hundredths of pole position in Sprint Qualifying. The Ferrari driver described his performance as his best qualifying lap of the 2026 season, putting himself directly behind George Russell and Lando Norris for the start.
Lewis Hamilton has a more difficult task from seventh place. Ferrari team principal Frédéric Vasseur acknowledged the contrasting fortunes of his drivers after qualifying and explained that the team needed to improve the balance of Hamilton’s SF-26 after his promising start to the weekend failed to translate into a stronger grid position.
