The Japanese Grand Prix saw Max Verstappen triumph ahead of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Yet, after the race, discussions on social media revolved more around flexible wings than Max Verstappen’s outstanding performance…
The Situation
Several users commented on a video showing clear flexing of the rear wing, apparently allowed by the regulations.
Ahead of the Bahrain weekend, Max Verstappen addressed the issue, saying: “I’m not the one who makes the rules, and I’m not the one who enforces them. What I see is probably what many others see, but I can’t say anything more. I know what’s going on, but I just focus on the car, our car. It’s the only thing I can do.”
A clear appeal to the International Federation, which introduced a new technical directive at the Japanese Grand Prix and, according to reports from The Race, should have seen the same images circulating online.
However, unless another team formally requests an investigation, the FIA will take no action. At this point, the question arises: what was the point of changing the regulations if it led to the same controversies? The final verdict will be left for posterity…
