In light of all the potential grid penalties, the FIA has released the grid for Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix at the Monza circuit.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, after qualifying second behind Scuderia Ferrari Moneagsque driver Charles Leclerc, was hit with a five-place penalty for using a new internal combustion engine to his pool.
While the other Ferrari of Carlos Sainz, Red Bull’s Sergio Perez and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton all took penalties after qualifying, the Dutchman will still receive a net-five-place penalty by the FIA’s existing methodology, so he will line up seventh on the grid. Carlos Sainz will start from 18th place, with Lewis Hamilton and Yuki Tsunoda following him.
