FIA issues rain warning for F1 Brazil Grand Prix: is the race at risk?. The FIA has issued a weather warning ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix Sprint Race.

The FIA has alerted all teams about the weather forecast in Brazil: rain could become a major factor ahead of the Sprint Race. At Interlagos, a possible downpour may once again shape the weekend. The São Paulo event will be crucial for the championship battle, and adverse track conditions could deliver several surprises. The FIA has released the expected weather conditions for the Brazilian Sprint Race, and the rain forecast does not inspire optimism.

It is worth recalling that last year’s violent storm contributed to moving qualifying to the following day. In this region, accurately predicting weather conditions is always challenging, as they are constantly evolving and often unpredictable. The time of year in which the race takes place adds another factor, as it has frequently produced wet races in the past.

The Federation’s alert

The FIA reportedly issued a weather alert with level 3-4 rain showers ahead of the Brazilian GP Sprint Race. This represents the highest value on the scale used to describe precipitation intensity. Forecasts indicate that the potential downpour could hit the track about two hours before the race start. The likelihood of this event is estimated at around 80%, while there is a smaller probability that adverse weather could persist for the rest of the day.

In the past, we have seen that predicting weather behavior at Interlagos is a challenging task even for the teams. Conditions can change drastically within a few minutes, and for the pit wall crews, it will be an extremely delicate job, especially during Sunday’s race.

Of course, wind will also be a crucial factor, with drivers potentially encountering difficulties in certain corners of the circuit. On Saturday, qualifying will take place, which is essential for building an optimal weekend, and even during this session there is a slight threat of rain.
