During the first free practice session of the Monaco Grand Prix, an incident involving Charles Leclerc and Lance Stroll was investigated by the FIA.
The FIA’s decision
During a fast lap attempt by Ferrari car number 16, the Canadian driver from Aston Martin failed to notice his rival approaching and ended up being rear-ended.
Stroll did not hear the warning from his race engineer in time, and Charles Leclerc was unable to avoid him, finding himself in the narrowest section of the circuit.
After analysing the episode and collecting both drivers’ versions of events, the stewards ruled that Stroll will serve a grid penalty and has also received one penalty point on his super licence.
