After a start to the 2023 Formula One season that was well below expectations, the Azerbaijan weekend gave us a Ferrari on the upswing, capable of securing two pole positions at the Baku City Circuit: one for the Saturday Sprint Race, the other for the Sunday race. Certainly, the SF-23’s pace is still far from that of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez’s Red Bull RB19, but the signals sent by the Prancing Horse are still positive. And with several updates on the way, things could go even better between Miami and Imola.
Next up Miami, the situation at Ferrari
According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Scuderia Ferrari will confirm at the Miami International Autodrome the setup proposed in Baku, but has planned some aerodynamic updates. These would involve parts – concerning the diffuser, floor, and wings – to obtain better balance.
Diffuser – As for the diffuser, a new version is expected to debut in Florida that was already prepared for Baku but was not introduced due to the specific characteristics of the Azerbaijan street track. The new version, according to the Prancing Horse engineers, should be less affected by changes in terms of ride height.
Monoplane wing – Regarding the wing, it is most likely that we will see the return of the famous “single support pylon, with a medium load profile.”

However, Italian daily newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport also reports that the Maranello team will launch its most substantial development package in two weeks in Imola. We will have to wait and see because there are other sources that suggest Ferrari is planning to bring the new “scalloped” side pods to Florida.
