F1 | Ferrari facing internal tensions and doubts over Hamilton: the Scuderia’s future grows more complicated
Growing unrest is taking hold inside Ferrari — from Charles Leclerc’s rising frustration to uncertainty surrounding Lewis Hamilton, all the way to concerns over the 2026 Formula 1 project. In the latest episode of “Terruzzi Racconta,” Giorgio Terruzzi, Pino Allievi and Stefano Nicoli analyzed one of the most critical moments of Ferrari’s season. The portrait painted by the three journalists shows a Scuderia still far from stability and still lacking the decisive step forward it has been searching for.
After opening the episode with a sharp remark about Fred Vasseur, the discussion moved to Charles Leclerc. Nicoli highlighted the toughest lines from Charles Leclerc’s comments in Las Vegas, where the Monegasque driver said: “We’ve had the same problems in the wet for seven years.” His frustration only grew after a race in which he felt he had driven at his absolute limit, taking “huge risks,” yet saw none of it translate into performance due to the car’s lack of straight-line speed and an overall inconsistency that he believes still defines Ferrari.
The ‘Hamilton’ issue
The most delicate part of the episode, however, came when the conversation shifted to Lewis Hamilton. According to Giorgio Terruzzi, the recent remarks from John Elkann created a climate that felt more tense than united, especially after his comparison with the WEC group. Pino Allievi was direct and spoke openly about the internal unease linked to the arrival of the seven-time world champion, who has brought with him a large entourage that is very present in the daily life of the team. “In Ferrari, some people would be happy if Hamilton said: ‘Sorry, I’m leaving,’” he stated firmly.
Stefano Nicoli expressed doubts about this point of view, reminding listeners that a separation after just one season would confirm a massive planning mistake. Pino Allievi countered with a statistic that he believes weighs more than anything else: “In 90 Grands Prix, Hamilton has won twice,” he said, emphasizing that none of those victories came with Ferrari. In his eyes, this single fact is enough to make some within the team question the long-term project.
The podcast ended with a heavy and open question: does Ferrari truly want to build a future with Charless Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton together, or is the team already imagining a completely different cycle?
With revolutionary new regulations just over a few months away, Ferrari cannot afford internal division. Right now, however, the scars of 2025 run deep – and the paddock is watching closely to see whether the most famous team in motorsport can heal them before it’s too late.
