Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc on whether Max Verstappen will be his main rival and where he expects to be in 5 years. Charles reflects on his F1 future.

Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc was asked to comment on whether Red Bull’s Max Verstappen will be his main Formula One rival in the future and where he expects to be in five years:

Will Max Verstappen by your main rival?
Charles Leclerc: “I think there will be others. We’ve got a new generation coming up and I’ve been driving against them for a long time: Alex (Albon), Lando (Norris), George (Russell). I hope we’re all fighting each other for world titles.”

Will Charles Leclerc vs Max Verstappen be the battle that Sebastian Vettel vs Lewis Hamilton is today? A permanent battle for the title?
Charles Leclerc: “That would be great fun. In karting we drove against each other often and for a long time. Fighting for the title in the next few years would be great.”

You said five years ago you didn’t expect to be here where you are now. Where will you be in five years from now on?
Charles Leclerc: “I don’t know. Hopefully in Formula 1 as a five-time F1 world champion (laughs)! No, simply with a bit more success and a few more victories for me.”
