Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc took part in Wednesday’s press conference ahead of the 2019 Monaco Grand Prix. Here are some of the most important quotes from Charles:
“My first memory of the grand prix. I was probably four and I keep the memory of playing with a small car and watching the race at the same time and then I think Michael at Ferrari and watching the red car more then the others.”
On team environment: “I think quite calm. We are working very hard. The engineers are working hard and pushing everyone. The serenity in the team does not change for now.”
On Niki Lauda: “I didn’t have many chances to talk to him, but when I did he was very nice to me. His a great example to the sport and we will miss him alot”
“I have only driven here once in F1. It was quick and you don’t have a feeling like this anywhere. The qualifying lap is the best for me as a driver”
On Ferrari’s development and progress after the testing session in Barcelona: “I think during testing we understood a few things. Not enough to be on the level on Mercedes. We gained some time, but we are working to understand the main issues, the engineers are working on that.”
On whether rain could possibly help Scuderia Ferrari in Monaco given Mercedes’ pace advantage: “In the rain, its a bit of a lottery but its difficult to say. It could change somethings. I hope we have rain for qualifying.”
