Ferrari, Benedetto Vigna fires up the team
This February 1st has been a crucial day for Ferrari. In addition to the international media buzz about Lewis Hamilton’s unexpected and imminent arrival starting from the 2025 Formula 1 season, the company has also released positive financial data for 2023.
CEO Benedetto Vigna, while not directly addressing Lewis Hamilton (at that moment the entire team was still waiting before the official announcement was made by both Mercedes and the Maranello team later in the evening), confirms that the Scuderia has the ambition to return to the top in Formula 1. Indicating, therefore, that Ferrari intends to improve and aim for the maximum in every aspect.
Benedetto Vigna’s comments
“In Formula 1, we fought until the last race, even though the last season was difficult and often lacked moments of satisfaction. We know that we have to continue working tirelessly to return to the level that our fans rightfully expect from us, and we look forward to it. The continuous desire to progress and strive for excellence in racing and everything we do testifies to our commitment and our willingness to always push the boundaries of technology and innovation, with boldness,” these are Benedetto Vigna’s comments in the call with financial analysts after the publication of the 2023 results. “In Formula 1, we have strengthened the technical team and expanded the production area, which is already operational.” – the Italian physicist and businessman pointed out.
Ferrari’s financials are positive (net profit of 1.257 billion euros, up 34% from 12 months ago), and they have sent the stock soaring: +8.5% for the Maranello-based company, reaching new highs above 350 euros. All of this even before the official confirmation of Lewis Hamilton. Yes, it was indeed a historic day for Ferrari and the Tifosi.
