When the 2020 season can start without the impediments due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Ferrari will field a revised SF1000 compared to the car that the Scuderia had brought to Australia for the mid-March debut that did not take place. The Maranello team has decided to compete in the first Grand Prix which will actually be put on the calendar with the 065/2 engine, according to reports from Motorsport Italy.

Unit 1, apparently, will therefore never run in a Grand Prix. The power unit used in the Barcelona winter tests was different from the one that should have made its first release in Melbourne. With the McLaren technician who was infected before the free practice on Friday, decreeing the postponement of the race at the antipodes, there was not even a start of the 065/1.

In Maranello the Racing Department is closed for the shutdown period imposed by the FIA ​​as the mandatory stop has also been extended to motorists, but the Cavallino company was anyway stopped due to the government decrees on COVID-19.
