Ferrari to investigate Lewis Hamilton’s problem in the Netherlands
Ferrari has confirmed that it will open an investigation to check whether a technical issue may have caused Lewis Hamilton’s error during the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. The unexpected oversteer suffered by the number 44 Ferrari in Turn 3 surprised many observers, given the dynamics of the incident and the fact that, up to that point, the SF-25 driven by the British champion had not shown such behaviour. For this reason, Team Principal Fred Vasseur explained that Ferrari will launch an investigation to determine if a problem with the car was behind the mistake that forced Lewis Hamilton out of the race in the Netherlands.
The goal is to fully understand the situation, similar to what happened after the controversial race in Budapest. On that occasion, the main character was Charles Leclerc, who was “forced” to give up a likely victory after taking pole position on Saturday. At first, the Maranello team suggested possible chassis damage, before the theory about tyre pressure issues began to circulate more strongly.
Fred Vasseur confirms Ferrari’s investigation
For this reason, Ferrari is determined to clarify the circumstances and has already set in motion an investigation aimed at uncovering the cause of Lewis Hamilton’s retirement. Fred Vasseur confirmed the plan during the press conferences that followed the Zandvoort Grand Prix. “We definitely need to analyse what happened to see if there was an issue with the car. Honestly, I do not believe that was the case, but we will find out,” stated the Ferrari Team Principal.
