“Copying only gets you to the maximum seconds,” said Ferrari Team Principal Frederic Vasseur, with Carlos Sainz, after the first disappointing races of the 2023 Formula 1 championship, reiterating that deciding to follow a path chosen by competitors means starting with more than a season’s delay in understanding that aerodynamic concept.

The Ferrari SF-24 car has changed its chassis and aerodynamic concept, appearing, however, not as innovative, at least aesthetically, as we have already pointed out in several analysis during the last few days. Carlos Sainz, speaking to DAZN, presented the SF-24 single-seater: “In this car, there are also elements inspired by Mercedes, Red Bull, and Aston Martin. As always in Formula 1, we carefully pick what works. I think it’s a very nice car, very different from the one in 2023.” – the Spanish driver pointed out.

At the same time, everything that is not visible from the outside is completely introduced by Ferrari: “The Ferrari engineers have innovated, there are things on the car that you don’t see, and these are purely Ferrari ideas that I’m sure will give us more performance,” added the Spanish driver, who stated that he is not surprised that black is prevalent on the starting grid: “Everyone is trying to reduce weight as much as possible, as demonstrated by the sparing use of colors on the bodywork.” – Carlos Sainz concluded.
