Ferrari SF-23 vs McLaren MCL60, race pace and tyre degradation at Silverstone | 2023 British GP. Race pace and tyre degradation at Silverstone.

F1 British GP: Leclerc tops wet final practice at Silverstone

A comparison between the Ferrari SF-23 and the McLaren MCL60 in terms of race pace and tyre degradation at the Silverstone circuit in the 2023 Formula 1 British Grand Prix:

McLaren was way faster than the Ferrari on both compounds. Difficult to image this scenario a couple races ago.

McLaren was around 0.5s quicker on the Mediums, with similar wear. Even bigger on the Hards, especially at the beginning of the stint (almost 1s/lap difference)

The steeper upward slope for the McLaren concerning the Hards is caused by them pushing a lot at the beginning of the stint and then managing the pace towards the end.

Medium compound: Red Bull = McLaren > Mercedes > Ferrari > Aston
Softs: Red Bull > Mercedes > Aston Martin
Hards: Mclaren >Ferrari

Red Bull’s pace on the medium tyre would have looked better had Sergio Perez not been in slow traffic in the first stint
