Russo-Israeli racing driver Robert Shwartzman, who is set to compete in the 2023 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, driving for AF Corse and is also Scuderia Ferrari’s Formula 1 reserve driver for the 2023 campaign, will have the opportunity to test a Formula E car later this month.
Robert Shwartzman, alongside Felipe Drugovich (the Aston Martin reserve driver) will travel to Tempelhof Airport in Berlin to take part in the rookie test following the Berlin ePrix for DS Penske and Maserati respectively.
The Brazilian racing driver who last competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with MP Motorsport has already spent more time than he expected testing this year: Felipe Drugovich in fact got the chance to replace Lance Stroll in the winter pre-season testing session at the Bahrain International Circuit in February when the Canadian was not able to drive due to an injury caused by a cycling accident.
Felipe Drugovich, who is the reigning Formula 2 champion, was not able to find a place on this year’s Formula 1 grid, while Robert Shwartzman finished second in Formula 2 two years ago, behind just Oscar Piastri.
Robert Shwartzman and Felipe Drugovich are not the only drivers linked to Formula One who will have the opportunity to get behind of a Formula E car in Germany.
