Ferrari isn’t backing down, and new and important updates for the SF-25 are ready to make their debut on track: here’s what they are
The 2025 Formula 1 season has now entered its second half. Although the situation seems quite clear after the first nine Grands Prix, the other teams aren’t giving up: they know that from now until September, there are a lot of points up for grabs. That’s why Ferrari is preparing to debut new and significant updates on the SF-25: here’s when and what they involve.
The season hasn’t started in the best way for the Maranello-based team. Although expectations were high after how 2024 ended, the situation became evident from the Bahrain tests. The dominant team isn’t the red one, which once again finds itself having to chase.
In this first part of the season, performances have been quite inconsistent. From the confusion in Melbourne to the highs of Monaco and Barcelona, and the disasters in China and Miami, the points collected by Leclerc and Hamilton have put the SF-25 in second place in the Constructors’ standings. The gap to McLaren is huge: over 100 points.
But despite knowing that the two papaya cars are almost “untouchable” and the ongoing focus on the 2026 Formula 1 project—the first car under the new regulations—Ferrari isn’t stopping here. According to what we’ve learned, before debuting the new suspension at Silverstone, the Maranello team will bring a new floor to the Austrian Grand Prix in a few weeks.
The Ferrari engineers at the factory continue working on the SF-25, trying to patch up its weak points before fully shifting focus to 2026. In fact, even if Ferrari is currently McLaren’s main chaser, it cannot afford to relax.
Behind them, Mercedes and Red Bull are more determined than ever, and it was only the problems in Monaco that pushed them back.
