Ferrari Driver Academy member Mick Schumacher interview on his Formula 1 debut, his goals and the prospects of racing for Ferrari in the future:
Mick Schumacher about the expectations with Haas F1 Team: “Of course as a driver, you want to win everything. But that is probably not our target for next year. We need to be realistic. If we get into Q2, score points. These are the small victories for us. I think everyone has an expectation of an F1 driver, so I think it’s similar to all the other drivers. The highest expectation comes from myself. There is some sort of pressure but from myself, not from the outside.”
Sebastian Vettel has said that Michael Schumacher was a mentor for him and that he would like to be that for you now. Will you take this offer?
Mick: “Of course, and I am looking forward to working with him. It will be nice and hopefully I can use some of the tips / tricks!”
Mattia Binotto has said that Ferrari is looking very closely at your progress. Is that additional pressure or more motivation?
Mick: “Motivation. It’s nice to know that the big bosses are looking at you, it encourages me to keep on fighting and keep working on myself.”
