Charles Leclerc produced an excellent race in Austin, but, as has often happened, Ferrari was unable to fully support the Monegasque’s qualities. The SF-26 showed signs of progress thanks to its latest updates, but the power-unit gap remains evident and continues to limit the ambitions of both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton.
In Texas, Charles Leclerc nevertheless secured an impressive second place behind Andrea Kimi Antonelli. The result took the Ferrari driver to 56 podium finishes for the Maranello team, allowing him to move clear of Rubens Barrichello and Sebastian Vettel and become the driver with the second-most Ferrari podiums, behind only Michael Schumacher. His second-place finish at the United States Grand Prix therefore carried particular historical significance alongside its value for Ferrari’s 2026 campaign.
