Ferrari plans a special double celebration at the Monza Grand Prix
Formula 1 returns from its summer break this weekend, heading first to the Dutch Grand Prix at Max Verstappen’s home circuit, before reaching the highly anticipated Italian Grand Prix in Monza. This event is always particularly special for Ferrari, and the Maranello team is known for organizing memorable tributes for its home Grand Prix. In 2025, Ferrari is preparing what promises to be a double celebration.
Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton, and a tribute to Niki Lauda
This marks the first year of seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton racing for Ferrari. Beyond his own presence, Hamilton shares a connection with the legendary Niki Lauda, a historic figure in Formula 1 and a key mentor in Hamilton’s career. Lauda’s guidance played a decisive role in shaping Hamilton’s future successes, and the British driver has repeatedly acknowledged how a conversation with Lauda convinced him to embrace the Ferrari project.
This year at Monza also marks the anniversary of Lauda’s world championship victory in 1975, when he took pole position and finished third in the race behind Clay Regazzoni and Emerson Fittipaldi. Despite not winning the race, Lauda’s result secured the World Championship for Ferrari. In 2025, Ferrari, together with Lewis Hamilton, aims to honor this historic triumph in every possible way, as recently confirmed by the Italian news media outlet Autoracer.it.
Charles Leclerc and his growing bond with the fans
Monza will also be an opportunity to celebrate Charles Leclerc and his ever-stronger connection with Ferrari supporters. The team, led by Frederic Vasseur, will organize a special dual tribute, highlighting both the 1975 championship and the passionate community of fans who support the Scuderia.
The relationship between the Italian public and Ferrari has always been deep and visceral, mirrored by the connection Leclerc has built with fans since joining the team. While the Monegasque driver has yet to win a World Championship with Ferrari, he has captured the hearts of supporters and established himself as the second-most successful pole-sitter in Ferrari’s history, trailing only Michael Schumacher. Monza will provide the perfect setting to celebrate this unique bond between Charles Leclerc, the Scuderia, and its dedicated fans.
