After the dominant win in the 2022 Australian Grand Prix at the Albert Park Circuit, for Scuderia Ferrari the focus now shifts to the next round of the season, the first in Europe: Formula 1 heads for Italy and the Maranello team is looking forward to racing in front of its Tifosi at the Imola circuit.
As reported by Italian journalist Daniele Sparisci for corriere.it, Ferrari will bring an upgrade to Imola, but it will not be something “significant”, because the F1-75 is already competitive in the basic configuration so the Maranello team does not have to hurry with the introduction of updates. And there is also one other important aspect to keep in mind, as confirmed by Team Principal Mattia Binotto: “Because of the sprint race, is not the right moment nor the suitable track for experimenting.”
The next interventions [upgrades] the Ferrari engineers will focus on is the area of the floor, in order to reduce the bouncing because “even in Melbourne in certain conditions the bouncing has created a performance problem.”
The Ferrari boss added: “We care a lot about the home race in Imola, so let’s forget about Australia and start from scratch. If I look at the classification, I couldn’t expect these results after three races. We came out of Australia well, it was a clear victory, but it doesn’t mean that this is our value. In difficult track conditions, we managed to set up the car better than the others. However, I expect a strong Red Bull in the next races. They are pushing and developing and it will be a tough fight.” – Mattia Binotto explained.
