Through a brief statement, Ferrari has officially announced the arrival of Loic Serra and Jerome D’Ambrosio, both signed from Mercedes. Following the internal reorganization of the past season and the recent months under Frederic Vasseur’s leadership, Ferrari strengthens its ranks with the addition of two significant new pieces, further bolstering the technical staff and beyond.
Ferrari, welcoming Serra and D’Ambrosio
Through a statement released just a few minutes ago, the Maranello-based team has officially confirmed the arrival of Loic Serra and Jerome D’Ambrosio, both recruited from Mercedes. Serra, the Frenchman, will assume the role of Head of Chassis Performance Engineering, while the Belgian D’Ambrosio will take on the position of vice team principal.
“Scuderia Ferrari HP is pleased to announce the arrival of two reinforcements: Loic Serra and Jerome D’Ambrosio, both from the Mercedes AMG F1 team,” the Prancing Horse stated in the release.
“Loic Serra will serve as Head of Chassis Performance Engineering, reporting to Enrico Cardile. In Maranello, he will coordinate the work of various departments, including Track Engineering, Aero Development, Aero Operations, and Vehicle Performance.”
“Loic, born in France in 1972, holds a degree in mechanical engineering and studied in Aix-en-Provence and Paris. After graduating in 1996, he worked at Michelin and in Formula 1 with BMW-Sauber and the Mercedes AMG F1 team.”

“Jerome D’Ambrosio, on the other hand, will assume the role of Deputy Team Principal, reporting directly to Team Principal Fred Vasseur. At the same time, D’Ambrosio will also take over the leadership of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy, Maranello’s program for young talents.”
“Jerome, born in Belgium in 1985, dedicated himself to a career as a driver until 2020. He boasts a victory in GP2, three in Formula E, as well as 20 Formula 1 Grand Prix appearances between 2011 and 2012. At Mercedes, he worked alongside Team Principal Toto Wolff and was involved in the Stuttgart-based manufacturer’s young driver program.”
