After the Monaco Grand Prix, Ferrari has been stuck in a series of negative results caused by a significant performance drop of the SF-24 compared to its rivals.
The updates brought to the car in Barcelona (following the disastrous weekend in Canada) did not yield the desired results.
Now Fred Vasseur’s technicians are tasked with restarting, having worked extensively in Maranello. The hope is to deliver a more competitive car to Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, although the team principal has stated that he expects a weekend similar to Belgium, where Ferrari still managed to secure a podium.
Last Chance
However, Ferrari will bring a new floor to the Dutch Grand Prix, designed and tested in the wind tunnel during these tough months.
This new solution should address the main issue of the previous package, specifically the bouncing problem.
If this indeed happens, the SF-24 could return to being competitive. Enough to fight for victory? Probably not, but enough to restore confidence among the fans as the season’s final races approach.
The team’s priority is to get back on track after derailing in the last few events. An encouraging performance at Zandvoort could be a sign, even with the Constructors’ Championship in mind: the key will be to rediscover the early season’s performance.
Will Ferrari manage to emerge from the crisis of the races before the summer break? We’ll just have to wait anxiously for this weekend to get an answer.
