F1 | Thrilling auction: Michael Schumacher’s racing suit sells for €100,000
During the Italian Grand Prix weekend in Monza, fans experienced excitement both on and off the track, thanks to a special auction entirely dedicated to the legendary Michael Schumacher. Hosted in the newly opened Schumacher Lounge in collaboration with Bonhams, the event showcased a collection of iconic memorabilia from the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion. The most coveted item was undoubtedly the racing suit Schumacher wore during the 2000 season, the year he secured his first world title with Ferrari, which sold for a record-breaking €95,650.
Not just the 2000 suit: many items fetched incredible prices
It wasn’t only the 2000 Ferrari suit that captured collectors’ attention. A Benetton racing suit from 1995 was sold for €61,360, while a replica of Michael Schumacher’s 2003 Ferrari helmet, signed by the champion himself, reached €11,520. Owning an item that once belonged to Michael Schumacher is like owning a piece of Formula 1 history, a fragment of legend that transcends its material value.
Part of the proceeds will go to charity
The auction was not just an opportunity for wealthy collectors, but also a moment of solidarity. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Keep Fighting Foundation, the charitable organization established to support initiatives connected to Schumacher’s legacy. This added an even deeper significance to the event. The atmosphere of the auction once again confirmed how deeply Schumacher remains in the hearts of millions of fans. Each item sold represented not only a sporting memory but also a reminder of one of Ferrari’s most glorious eras. Events like this help fund the Keep Fighting Foundation, founded in 2016 with the aim of enhancing safety on track and encouraging people to continue fighting and pursuing their dreams.
