Terruzzi and Allievi return to the Fred Vasseur case and the misunderstandings between Ferrari and the press: behind it all may be a poor knowledge of the Italian language.
The tensions within Ferrari after the Canadian Grand Prix continue to generate discussion. The debate was further fueled by Giorgio Terruzzi and Pino Allievi during a recent episode of the podcast Terruzzi racconta, in which the two journalists commented on statements made by Ferrari team principal Frédéric Vasseur against the Italian press.
The French engineer harshly criticized the Italian media environment, accusing Italian journalists of unfairly attacking the Scuderia and even targeting the families of its employees. But Giorgio Terruzzi and Pino Allievii did not hesitate to point out the inconsistencies and dangers of distorted communication.
Fred Vasseur doesn’t know Italian, and Ferrari is giving him poor information
“Vasseur’s reaction is worrying. He brought up families and parents of people who work there. But no one ever talked about those things and no one ever mentioned any names. Someone must have misreported to him what the Italian press actually said.”
One of the main points raised concerns the language barrier which, according to Giorgio Terruzzi and Pino Allievi, is causing misunderstandings not only with the media but also within the team itself: “In his case, it would be better if he had a strong command of the Italian language. It’s not good to hear that finishing sixth and seventh in a race, along with what Charles Leclerc said, are being interpreted as symptoms of a family that is clearly not in a calm state.”
This was a clear reference to the tense atmosphere within Ferrari following the disappointing performance in Canada, where Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton were left outside the podium positions. The technical and managerial crisis seems to have also exposed communication weaknesses that risk further isolating the French team principal.
The podcast, which has always focused on paddock behind-the-scenes matters, highlighted how managing both internal and external relationships has become one of the central issues Ferrari must resolve if it hopes to return to the top. While media criticism is part of the game, misunderstandings and miscommunications risk making an already complicated situation even worse.
