Mini sector comparison for the best lap times set by Ferrari, Mercedes and Aston Martin in the first free practice session for the 2023 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix:
The first free practice session was relatively tight between Ferrari and Aston Martin.
The SF-23 car seems to have excellent traction: check the parts after turn 1, out of the corner leading to the tunnel, after the chicane and most of the III sector
The Aston Martin car showed some very good top speed and excellent braking
Knowing Ferrari usually use more fuel than Aston Martin in practice for short runs gives us confidence that they’re even quicker
