Racing Bulls have beaten Ferrari to the fastest Formula 1 pit stop of 2026, completing a tyre change on Arvid Lindblad’s car in just 1.99 seconds at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The lap-20 stop in Budapest lowered Ferrari’s previous benchmark by 0.01 seconds, adding another significant achievement to the Faenza team’s impressive recent progress.
Plenty of attention has been drawn to Racing Bulls’ major step forward in recent weeks. After struggling at several of the opening rounds, the Italian team has produced an excellent sequence of results, placing both drivers in the points at six of the past seven races.
Racing Bulls rise to fifth in the constructors’ standings
That run has lifted Racing Bulls into a clear fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship, making the Faenza-based squad the leading team behind Formula 1’s four established frontrunners.
Racing Bulls have also emerged as a major force in the pit lane. The Red Bull family’s junior team currently sits third in Formula 1’s seasonal pit-stop ranking, behind only Mercedes and Ferrari. Its mechanics also have the satisfaction of being ahead of their Red Bull counterparts in this particular battle.
Mercedes lead the standings with 233 points, while Ferrari occupy second place on 183. Racing Bulls are close behind with 177 points, whereas Red Bull have collected 134.
Racing Bulls set the fastest F1 pit stop of 2026
In Budapest, the Racing Bulls mechanics gave themselves a special present before the summer break by producing the fastest pit stop of the 2026 season so far. The tyre change on Arvid Lindblad’s car was completed in 1.99 seconds on lap 20 of the race.
That performance beat Ferrari’s previous seasonal record by one hundredth of a second. The Maranello crew had changed the tyres on Lewis Hamilton’s car in exactly two seconds at the Japanese Grand Prix, helping Ferrari dominate the Suzuka pit-stop rankings.
It represents another notable achievement for a team that still receives relatively little attention, despite arguably deserving to be considered the revelation of the first half of the 2026 Formula 1 season. Racing Bulls are delivering both on the track and in the pit lane.
