Scuderia Ferrari crosses the ocean with the intention of returning to the podium after slipping down in the Chinese Grand Prix. The Prancing Horse team arrives at the Miami International Autodrome in Florida fueled by the desire to be a in the spotlight on all fronts. The Maranello team will sport blue attire for the USA event, paying homage to tradition: John Surtees won the championship in 1964 with the colors of the NART (North American Racing Team), while Niki Lauda and Clay Regazzoni in the 70s wore blue fireproof clothing.
This blue also recalls the colors of the new title sponsor, HP, which was officially announced recently and will make its debut on the SF-24 single-seater in Miami. Hewlett-Packard is a US multinational computer company returning to Formula 1 (having been associated with Williams) to take on a prominent role.
So, in the sixth Formula 1 race of the 2024 season, we will see a very aggressive Scuderia, with hopes that Ferrari can also be competitive on the track. The red car we will see at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit will also change visibly, while in Miami, some elements of the new floor that are nearing completion at the Racing Department may be unveiled. There is talk of details concerning the central part of the floor. The logistics of the Prancing Horse team have reportedly organized an urgent air shipment of the new parts: we will only find out in the Miami paddock whether the Italian side will also play an early update game, or if it will prefer to stick to the original plan and wait for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Like the Chinese Grand Prix, the first of the three scheduled USA events will also feature a weekend with the Sprint Race format, meaning it will be conditioned only by a free practice session before Friday afternoon qualifying for the Saturday morning race.
It’s evident that introducing updates won’t be easy (they’ll need to work immediately), but British reports suggest that McLaren will also bring changes that could alter the field. It’s an intriguing game being played not only on the track but also in the factories.
