Haas Formula 1 driver Oliver Bearman has been filmed driving Ferrari’s new 849 Testarossa through Monaco, attracting attention behind the wheel of a supercar producing more than 1,000 horsepower. The British youngster was spotted leaving a Ferrari dealership in Monte Carlo in a striking blue example of the plug-in hybrid machine, which combines a twin-turbocharged V8 with three electric motors to deliver 1,050 PS.
The appearance was captured in a video shared by a Monaco-based social media influencer. Although expensive Ferraris are hardly unusual on the streets of the principality, the presence of a Formula 1 driver behind the wheel made this particular sighting stand out. The footage had attracted approximately 5,600 likes and 79 shares at the time of reporting.
Oliver Bearman filmed leaving Monaco Ferrari dealership in 849 Testarossa
The video shows Oliver Bearman driving a blue Ferrari 849 Testarossa away from Scuderia Monte-Carlo, an official Ferrari retailer in Monaco. The car features contrasting white racing stripes, yellow brake calipers and local Monaco registration plates.
The Instagram post accompanying the footage describes the Haas driver’s outing as a test of the new supercar. However, the precise circumstances have not been confirmed, and it remains unclear whether the appearance involved a private dealership test drive or a vehicle loan arrangement.
Whatever the reason for the outing, the sighting provides an interesting connection between Ferrari’s road-car operations and one of the young drivers associated with its Formula 1 development programme.
Bearman competes for Haas, which uses Ferrari power units, while continuing to be associated with the Ferrari Driver Academy. His appearance in the latest Ferrari supercar therefore comes against the background of an established relationship with the Maranello manufacturer.
Ferrari 849 Testarossa delivers 1,050 PS from hybrid V8 powertrain
The Ferrari 849 Testarossa was unveiled on 9 September 2025 as the plug-in hybrid successor to the SF90 Stradale, with production at Maranello beginning in the middle of 2026.
At the heart of the new model is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine developing 830 PS, equivalent to approximately 819 horsepower. Three electric motors provide an additional 220 PS, with two positioned at the front axle and the third at the rear.
Combined output reaches 1,050 PS, or approximately 1,036 horsepower, giving the 849 Testarossa 50 PS more than its predecessor. That figure places the road-going Ferrari close to the estimated total power output of a 2026 Formula 1 car.
Power is transmitted through an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox to all four wheels. Ferrari claims the 849 Testarossa can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds, while maximum speed is approximately 330 km/h, equivalent to 205 mph.
The supercar also features a 7.45 kWh battery, providing an electric-only driving range of approximately 26 kilometres, or 16 miles. That would be sufficient for a short journey through Monaco without relying on the combustion engine.
While the 849 Testarossa is a road car rather than a Formula 1 machine, its combination of combustion and electric power demonstrates the performance capabilities of Ferrari’s latest hybrid technology.
How much does the Ferrari 849 Testarossa cost?
Ferrari offers the 849 Testarossa in two body styles. Buyers can choose the conventional coupé or the Spider, which features a retractable hardtop.
Prices start at approximately €460,000 for the coupé, while the Spider costs around €500,000 before any additional personalisation. The model’s name also reflects Ferrari’s history. The number eight refers to the cylinder count of its combustion engine, while 49 represents the displacement of each cylinder, which is just under 500 cubic centimetres.
The Testarossa designation revives a name associated with a Ferrari racing car from the 1950s and the famous road-going supercar of the 1980s. Ferrari has also incorporated visual references to other notable models, including the F80 hypercar and the Daytona. The company has compared the rear styling of the new machine to the Ferrari 512 S endurance racing car from 1970.
Could Oliver Bearman’s Monaco Ferrari feature the Assetto Fiorano package?
The blue example filmed in Monte Carlo features white racing stripes that give it a particularly sporting appearance.
Those details could suggest the optional Assetto Fiorano package, which is available for both the coupé and Spider versions of the 849 Testarossa. The package is designed to provide a more track-focused configuration and reduces the car’s weight by approximately 30 kilograms.
However, the visible stripes alone are not sufficient to establish whether the Monaco-registered vehicle has been fitted with this option. Confirmation would require additional information about the car’s individual specification.
Oliver Bearman’s Ferrari connection goes back to his remarkable F1 debut
Although Oliver Bearman currently races for Haas, his relationship with Ferrari extends well beyond the team’s supply of Formula 1 power units.
The British driver is a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, having progressed through the manufacturer’s young-driver development structure before reaching Formula 1. His breakthrough opportunity came at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, when Ferrari required a replacement for Carlos Sainz, who was unable to compete after undergoing surgery.
Called into action at short notice, Bearman made an impressive Formula 1 debut by finishing seventh in Jeddah. The performance marked an important moment in his career and demonstrated his ability to handle the demands of driving for Ferrari under unusual circumstances.
His progress through the Italian manufacturer’s development programme and the circumstances surrounding that debut are explored in greater detail in our analysis of Oliver Bearman’s rise through the Ferrari Driver Academy.
The result also established a notable early milestone in his Formula 1 career. His Ferrari Formula 1 career records document his appearance at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, including his seventh-place finish and the championship points earned on his debut.
Bearman has since continued his Formula 1 career with Haas, maintaining his connection to Maranello while gaining experience as a full-time Grand Prix driver. He has also previously discussed his ambition to race for Ferrari again, reflecting the importance of that relationship to his longer-term sporting objectives.
Those ambitions were explored in his earlier comments about his dream of returning to Ferrari as a Formula 1 driver.
For now, the Monaco footage offers a different glimpse of the young Briton’s association with the Italian manufacturer. Instead of an F1 car, Oliver Bearman was behind the wheel of one of Ferrari’s most powerful road-going models, a machine whose performance figures demonstrate just how far the company’s hybrid supercar technology has progressed.
