F1 | Bearman reveals plans during break after Japan crash
Oliver Bearman has shared his plans for the upcoming month following his heavy crash at the Japanese Grand Prix, which occurred when he was forced to avoid another car and went off onto the grass before Spoon Curve. The Haas driver and Ferrari Driver Academy member explained that the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix has inevitably changed his schedule: he will take a few days to recover physically after the impact before returning to work and beginning preparations for the next race.
Oliver Bearman reassures: “Everything is fine”
After hitting the barriers, the young British driver emerged from his car limping. Speaking to the media at Suzuka, he said: “Yes, first of all, everything is fine. I’m absolutely okay. It was a scary moment, but it’s all okay, and that’s what matters most.”
Oliver Bearman also expressed his regret for the damage caused to the car and the extra work it created for the team: “I can only sincerely apologize to the team, because it means a lot of extra work for them.”
The Ferrari junior has therefore confirmed he is physically unharmed and is now prioritizing recovery and team-building during the extended break. Based on his post-race comments at Suzuka, the focus for Haas now shifts to car repairs and optimizing their setup for the unique challenges of the Miami International Autodrome.
