
Ferrari Driver Academy prospect Niccolò Maccagnani will make his FIA Formula 3 debut in Madrid this weekend with Rodin Motorsport, becoming the youngest driver ever to take to the track in the championship. The highly rated Italian youngster will step up from Formula 4 and replace Christian Ho for the Madrid round.
Rumours surrounding the move had begun circulating in recent hours, but the announcement has now been made official. It means five Italian drivers are set to compete at Madring across Formula 3 and Formula 2 this weekend, with Niccolò Maccagnani joining Brando Badoer, Nicola Lacorte, Matteo De Palo and Gabriele Minì.

Born in Rome in 2010, Niccolò Maccagnani has been competing with Prema Racing in Formula 4 during the 2026 season. He will now have the opportunity to make his Formula 3 debut in Spain, taking the wheel for Rodin Motorsport at the new Madring circuit.
The step represents a significant opportunity for the young Ferrari Driver Academy member, who will move into a Formula 3 single-seater for the race weekend and take over Christian Ho’s seat.
Rodin Motorsport confirms Maccagnani for Madrid
Rodin Motorsport confirmed the change in its official announcement: “Rodin Motorsport confirms that Niccolò Maccagnani will join our FIA Formula 3 team in Madrid for the ninth round of the championship, making his debut as the youngest driver ever to take to the track in Formula 3.”
The team also thanked Christian Ho for his work during the season, adding: “Niccolò will replace Christian Ho; we would like to thank Christian for his contribution to the team throughout the season and wish him all the best for the future.”
Niccolò Maccagnani will therefore become another Ferrari Driver Academy talent to take an important step up the single-seater ladder, with his first FIA Formula 3 appearance coming on Madrid’s new circuit this weekend.
