Italian blogger Leo Turrini, who is famously very close to proceedings at Scuderia Ferrari, reflects on the team’s most important people in his newest blog entry, as he discussed several aspects surrounding the Maranello team:
“Striving towards a happy ending is the best philosophy. And since it’s our uncontainable passion for Ferrari that brought us here together, after a year of highs and lows, it’s only fair to look towards the future with hopeful eyes. We shall therefore attempt to present shortly the protagonists of our future year: people on which will depend our thrives or our disappointments in 2020.
Camillieri: I’ve already stated that I’m not too fond of this inexperienced chap, as I’m not even sure he acknowledges where he stands yet… But we can keep on trying.
Binotto: From all his actions it’s evident that he’s a good guy and he means well. He knows what he wants and is committed to the cause. He could benefit from putting the competent stakeholders to better use, however he tends to be excessively fearful and that will not do any good.
Rosato: Ginone’s a feisty one. He’s Scuderia’s Highlander. The last diehard who reminds us of Ciro di Gomorra, still with us after all the team restructuration trials. He’s the Red Team’s responsible for external affairs, thankfully untouchable, I must add!
Cardile-Sanchez-Resta: The trio in charge of the project for the 2020 car. Given the fact that the power unit of Fabroni and Zimmerman is not an issue, all the responsibility is in their hands. It wouldn’t hurt listening a little bit more to Resta, in my opinion, especially after the not so encouraging outcomes of the trainings in the simulator and the wind tunnel…but what do I know?
Toninalli: I wouldn’t say no! Not to quote the king of bloopers, the ex-minister Toninelli. Not many people know this, but Toninalli is actually the right hand of Binotto. For better or worse.
Mekies: Sports director, more or less. He’s very capable, but quoting Chandok in his statement pro-Vettel for Canada, he fell classically by slipping on banana peels. He could pay more attention to strategy building.
Rueda: The man who’s always on call. Tirelessly juggling between genius sparks and foolish slips. Some balance would be nice.
Silvia: The PR of the Suderia. The heiress of Colajanni, Bisignani, Antonini. Sometimes badly advised, however better than some of her predecessors. She would deserve to write the victory message at the end of a world championship. Maybe in 2021. Maybe.
Vettel: He received harsh criticism for many reasons. He’s the kind of player who “plays cause he brings the ball to the game”. With him there’s gonna be much fun: behold, Sebastian is alive and fighting alongside all the trolls.
Leclerc: At this point on Carletto’s mind there’s only Hamilton, which is understandable, given the prospective for 2020 and even 2021. Someone could perhaps help by providing him with the personal phone of John Elkann, so he could suggest him to drop these ideas? Sure, me, me! So…335667
Happy new year girls and boys.”
