Italian blogger Leo Turrini, who is famously very close to proceedings at Scuderia Ferrari, asks the Italian side’s Team Principal Mattia Binotto ten key questions, in a recent post published by Leo Turrini on his quotidiano.net blog:
1) Dear Binotto, do you really think the conduct of the FIA is fair and impartial?
2) Have you ever considered Mercedes’ political media power as unfair competition?
3) Did you by chance discover the identity of the “mole” that passed information on the 2019 Ferrari supermotor to … enemies?
4) Excuse me, but is it acceptable that people of great responsibility in Ferrari leave Maranello (badly) and go happy to work for the… referee, that is, the aforementioned FIA?
5) Freezing engines at the beginning of 2022 is perhaps inevitable for economic reasons, for the sustainability of the F1 business, etc. But can I hope that in exchange for your approval, Ferrari have obtained guarantees on a rebalancing of performances, if a competitor (always the same one!) was in a condition of great technological advantage?
6) What does it mean for you personally to be the head of the most famous and prestigious F1 team? Do you realize that without Ferrari Formula One would lose much of its credibility and popularity?
7) How long will the Ferrari fans have to be patient? Speaking so far ahead of 2022, you and Elkann have fueled enormous expectations. Won’t you be that one that will..postpone us to 2023?!?
8) You have nothing to do with it, at the time your were a young boy. But now wouldn’t it be time to publicly declare that Ferrari is asking for a return, at least partial, to track tests? Everything changes, is it possible that only on that absurd point it is not possible to obtain an afterthought?
9) Have patience, but the thesis attributed to Marchionne, “we do everything at home with the people we have in the company” has produced results that to define disappointing is an understatement. Don’t you think it’s your job to look around for valuable technicians?
10) Who will win an F1 world championship first, Ferrari or Red Bull? Or should I also worry about McLaren and Alpine Renault?
