Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have become models for a day along with model Irina Shayk on the Fiorano track, Ferrari’s own racing circuit. The two drivers along with the model posed for Vogue Italia with the aim of launching a strong message: to create a female model in the world of motorsport.
“It’s impossible to remain indifferent to such a special atmosphere,” says Irina Shayk, engaged for this photoshoot with the two drivers of the Maranello team, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. The three of them wandered around Fiorano track amused, ready to be immortalized by photographer Theo Liu.
The top model wears a Dolce&Gabbana trench coat over racing boots, followed by the two drivers. The photos were then taken in the pit lane, among track objects and items usually used by mechanics. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, therefore, have become ambassadors of a message that brings together sports and women through the world of fashion.
“I am happy because Formula 1 is also making its way into the fashion world. It is an avant-garde sector that gives us more visibility. Plus, I am a big lover of fashion and I really like having these opportunities which allow me to explore myself,” says a fascinated Charles Leclerc.
“I like this change in this world. I must admit that it is very positive and I am excited to be part of it,” Carlos Sainz added.
The sentiment is echoed by Fred Vasseur, team principal of Scuderia Ferrari. “It’s nice how we managed to break out of the boundaries of motorsport and sport in general. We are becoming a true cultural phenomenon, finding space in fashion magazines, in digital spaces dedicated to lifestyle, youth, and even luxury. Interest in Formula One is growing everywhere.” – the French manager pointed out.
