Formula 1’s most historic team is looking for its first race victory in more than two seasons. When the five red lights go out and the first race of the 2022 Formula One championship starts in Bahrain at the Sakhir international circuit on March 20th, 910 days will have passed since the last time a Scuderia Ferrari car crossed the flag in first place: German driver Sebastian Vettel took the Italian side’s 240th victory in the 2019 Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay Street Circuit in Marina Bay, but since then Ferrari has struggled a lot, especially during the 2020 season.
In the meantime, six other teams have won at least one Formula 1 Grand Prix. Mercedes and Red Bull have of course dominated the competition, while McLaren, Alpine, AlphaTauri and Racing Point (now Aston Martin) have taken one each.

Even if Scuderia Ferrari does not manage to score a race victory during the 2022 Formula 1 campaign, the Maranello team will not equal their last longest losing streak. The Italian side went 1,400 days between Alain Prost’s victory in the 1990 Spanish Grand Prix and Gerhard Berger’s triumph at Hockenheim four years later. But after the good progress shown last year, when Ferrari scored to pole positions with Charles Leclerc and the Monegasque driver also come very close to winning the British Grand Prix at the Silverstone circuit, the Maranello team will be hoping to finally taste glory once more this year and constantly be able to challenge rivals Mercedes and Red Bull.
