MILAN – The “key factor” to winning the F1 championship: Frédéric Vasseur fuels the enthusiasm of Ferrari fans. In a packed Piazza Castello, the Prancing Horse team inaugurates a 2025 full of hopes. The first stop is the Australian Grand Prix, with the team ready to leave for Melbourne, but not before greeting the fans in a show full of surprises.
The presentation of the “new” Scuderia Ferrari to the fans is a success on all fronts. Street performances, donuts, passionate cheering, and massive participation: the excitement of the red-clad crowd is through the roof. The upcoming season is described as “the most open ever,” but Maranello’s goal is clear (and long overdue): winning the title and ending the current, unbearable drought.
On the streets of Milan, the new duo of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc put on a show. The two take turns driving an SF90 and an SF21, weaving through the city streets first individually and then side by side in a parade. A sight that already sparks the imagination, as everyone waits for the on-track verdict to clarify the mysteries glimpsed during pre-season testing in Bahrain, as the Italian side seemed to be slightly behind rivals McLaren at this stage.
Fred Vasseur: An open championship, but Ferrari will be there
Responding to a fan’s question, Frédéric Vasseur jokes: “The key factor? Scoring more points than second place!” The team principal then gives a direct answer: “If we look at what we did last season, I think we did a good job. It wasn’t great because we finished second, but consistency is more crucial than anything else.” – the Frenchman pointed out – “We had the pace to win, but not for the entire season. We had a period, between June and July, where we struggled a bit, and that cost us the championship. Consistency is the key aspect. We know that at the start of the season, there will be ups and downs, with good weekends and tougher ones. The key factor will be managing the difficult ones well.” – the Ferrari team boss concluded.
