Lewis Hamilton crashed in the closing moments of final practice for the Belgian Grand Prix, heavily damaging the rear of his Ferrari at Turn 13 and leaving the team facing an urgent repair job before qualifying at Spa-Francorchamps.
The incident occurred after the chequered flag had fallen in FP3. Lewis Hamilton lost control at Turn 13 in an accident that closely resembled Pierre Gasly’s crash at the same corner during Friday practice. The Ferrari sustained substantial rear-end damage, putting the Maranello mechanics under immediate pressure ahead of the all-important qualifying session.

Ferrari faces race against time before Belgian GP qualifying
The crash is a major setback for Lewis Hamilton after Ferrari’s encouraging work on its Spa setup and battery deployment overnight. With the rear of the SF-26 badly damaged, the team must now complete extensive repairs in a limited window before qualifying begins.
Ferrari will need to assess the full extent of the damage once the car returns to the garage, with the priority being to ensure Lewis Hamilton’s car is fully ready for the session that will shape his Belgian Grand Prix weekend.
