Celebratory Day
March 30th is a significant day in the UK: it’s Mother’s Day. The occasion is especially meaningful and was emotionally celebrated by Ferrari’s new driver, Lewis Hamilton, who has never hidden his connection to the maternal figure. In fact, he has two maternal figures: in addition to his biological mother, Carmen Larbalestier, the seven-time world champion also has a stepmother, Linda, who is his father Anthony‘s second partner.
Lewis’ parents separated when he was two years old: Hamilton lived with his mother and two older stepsisters, Samantha and Nicola, until he was twelve. He then lived with his father, Linda, and his stepsibling Nicolas.
On Instagram, Lewis Hamilton dedicated an emotional post to the two women, accompanied by several photos of him with them on track. Some of these photos are already from his Ferrari experience, where the English champion has been greatly supported by his whole family. Below is the translation of the heartfelt message that #44 wanted to dedicate to his ‘two moms’ on this special occasion.
A special message
“I want to celebrate these two beautiful women who have helped me move forward in life. I’m always in awe of mothers. Selfless, loving, devoted, and caring. My mother would sit with me to study, and even when I struggled, her patience gave me hope. My stepmother has always encouraged my creativity and has been there for me both on and off the track. When I raced in the rain, there was always a warm fire and a bowl of noodle soup in the trailer. These are just a few of the millions of ways they supported me. I’m forever grateful to them and to all the mothers out there. Remember, you are appreciated and loved. You are the light in dark times. Thank you for everything you do. Happy Mother’s Day.”
