The Ferrari SF-24 will completely change its appearance for the Italian Grand Prix, as the Maranello team’s technicians have worked extensively on a package of aerodynamic updates that will be crucial for the end of the 2024 Formula 1 season: let’s explore the new features together.
A new SF-24
The current car will undergo modifications to several components, starting with a low-downforce rear wing, necessary for the Monza track configuration.
However, the aerodynamic updates don’t stop there: a new floor will be installed, which should solve the problem of bouncing (a major issue for the Maranello team since the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, preventing the SF-24 car from delivering its maximum performance); thus providing significant aerodynamic load in medium-high-speed corners.
Finally, there will be the introduction of a single-profile beam wing and multiple minor aerodynamic changes. According to rumors, Ferrari has brought forward many components originally planned for the fall, attempting to go all-in already at the “Temple of Speed.”
In short, this weekend we can expect a significant step forward from Ferrari, which should be enough to remain competitive until the end of the 2024 Formula 1 championship, even without further—at least not as significant—updates to the SF-24.
Will the Maranello team be able to make Italian fans rejoice with a victory on their home circuit? We can only wait for the Italian Grand Prix weekend to find out.
