At the end of the first two free practice sessions of the Monza Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc spoke about his feelings and Ferrari’s hopes.
Overall it was a positive opening day. Charles Leclerc finished both of the first two practice sessions at Monza in second place with his Ferrari. A solid starting point for a weekend that is of fundamental importance for the team from Maranello.
McLaren remains the big favourite, it must be said, but the two drivers of the Prancing Horse will give everything to try to deliver joy to the thousands of Tifosi who will fill the circuit in Brianza over these days. For Sunday a full house is expected, which will certainly ignite the atmosphere at Monza.
At the end of the first day of track activity, Charles Leclerc explained his sensations and what Ferrari’s prospects might be. He noted that the car had not been the most consistent today in both low and high fuel runs, but it was fast, which in his view was better than the opposite situation. He admitted there was work to do on the single lap to extract the maximum in qualifying and to improve overall consistency. He added that qualifying would likely be very close, just as it was last year on this track. For now, things had gone fairly well and he believed that on Saturday Ferrari would have the chance to fight for it.
