Silverstone: Ferrari Faces Issues with Charles Leclerc
When the FP2 session at Silverstone had already started for a few minutes, there was no sign of Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque driver was stuck in the garage due to electrical problems with his Ferrari SF-23.
The first signs of trouble started well before the scheduled start of the second practice session: Charles Leclerc never got into the SF-23, while his teammate Carlos Sainz was ready to hit the track immediately. This indicates that the Ferrari mechanics discovered the issues with the car before the green light at the end of the pit lane.

Race Against Time
The mechanics are working on the wiring in the area between the engine and the chassis. The undertray of the SF-23 is completely dismantled as well. Even after identifying the technical problem, it will take dozens of minutes to prepare the car again, start it up, and send Charles Leclerc out on track. It’s inevitable that the Monegasque will lose at least three-quarters of the session (if not the entire FP2). This is a significant setback, especially considering that wet conditions are expected for tomorrow’s sessions. Therefore, this could be the last opportunity to fine-tune the car in dry conditions, both for a single lap and the race pace.
