Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc has hinted that he will no longer take part in the usual Thursday Formula 1 track walks following a ban that was recently confirmed on the use of wheeled transport.
FOM, which is responsible for the circuit between official sessions, made the decision to ban the use of bicycles, scooters and electric versions of each, alongside buggies and any four-wheeled vehicles.
The decision was made based on safety reasons, given the fact that 20 drivers in addition to team personnel being joined by support categories, the race track was starting to become evermore congested during the Thursday walks.
Two weeks ago, during the Bahrain Grand Prix, Formula 1 teams were announced of the introduction of the new rule by the Formula One Management which manages track activity as the organizer of the sporting event.
“To clarify and to avoid future misunderstanding, the use of any means of transport (bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, e-scooters, etc) is forbidden during the time window stated as ‘Team Track Walks’ on the Event Timetable,” stated FOM – “No exceptions will be allowed. This decision has been agreed with the FIA.”

Following this note that was handed to Formula One teams at the Sakhir circuit informing the teams of the rule change amid concerns, Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc confirmed that “I didn’t walk around,” – he replied when quizzed whether he had scouted the Jeddah Corniche Circuit on Thursday.
“And as I think they’ve just issued a new thing where we cannot go around the track with a bicycle you probably won’t see me around the track anymore, and I’ll just watch the videos!” – Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc concluded.
