Scuderia Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz explains the strange Sergio Perez crash in the final stages of the qualifying session for the 2022 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix.
The Red Bull Mexican driver span on his final fast lap and hit the barriers at the entrance to the tunnel. The marshals waved a yellow flag as Carlos Sainz approached, but the Spaniard was unable to react and stop in time to avoid hitting Sergio Perez. That resulted in the red flag being thrown as the session was brought to a premature stop, leaving Charles Leclerc on pole position for tomorrow’s race on the streets of Monte Carlo.
